Hey, Castle. If you're watching this; okay you're either snooping through my underwear or I'm actually gone. I never thought I'd say this but I'm honestly hoping it's option one, because if it's not...

[ She laughs, a little mirthless but not sacrificing that big smile she always saves just for him. This feels cheesy, and it's a lot harder than she wants to admit. But she has to do it, Kate's always prepared. Maybe she should've just written a letter. Too late now, right...? ]

Okay, Let me just get through this. I don't know why we were brought here and why suddenly I have to leave -- and who knows for how long it'll be, even. [ She pauses, taking a moment to catch her breath and make it through the rest of this. ]

[ Another pause. She looks straight into the camera, and Castle might notice that her eyes are wet and a little puffy by now, and that the corner of her mouth twitches down before she continues. ]
