cuffmeonce: ([Alexis] Daddy's Girl)
[Locked from Alexis]
[Castle has spent most of the day making Alexis her favorite meal. Beckett might have left but he spent many Valentines Day without her and this one is no exception. The camera pans over a table set with candles, sprinkled with pink tin foiled wrapped chocolate hearts. There's a white and red stuffed teddy bear sitting in one of the chairs. Next to it are three books. There's a card that says Will you be my Valentine even when I'm 99?]

That’s right I’ve got a hot date with the prettiest girl in the City...my daughter. Be envious. Be jealous!

Think she’ll like it? Or am I going over board into creepy dad territory here?

[ooc: Action open to Alexis. Video and voice open to everyone else. Feel free to tell him that yes he has crossed over into creepy dad territory]
cuffmeonce: (Writer)
I'm a writer.

Alexis is real.

That much I'm sure of.

...everything else I--the beautiful brunette--clever, quick witted, reads comic books, brave and yet so vulnerable. I think I made her up.

I know I made her up.

I think I've made everything up.

[ooc: Last stage of the memory curse. I figured Castle being a writer it might be interesting for him to think everything is fictional. He'll get his memory back by the weekend at the latest]
cuffmeonce: ([Family] Epic Shit)
[The camera flickers on and Rick is in a laundry room with a disgusted expression on his face.]

I don't remember leaving clothes in the washer.

[Yelled] ALEXIS! Mother! Did either of you leave clothes in the washer?

[Then he notices that the camera is on. He smirks at it as he starts rummaging in the cabinet for detergent.]

Any tips on getting mildew out of colored clothing...[Very long pause]

When one has forgotten to get detergent.

[ooc; Just the beginning of the memory loss curse. He's forgetting all kinds of little things.]
cuffmeonce: (Not this again)
[Castle is crouched behind a bookshelf in the very bowels of the library. He has on a leather fedora and there is a bullwhip coiled at his hip. He has a gun in his hand as well. He glances over his shoulder to Alexis then takes out a book from his jacket pocket.]

See this here? Decoded I think it's telling us the notebook is hidden under the cornerstone over there.

[The device slips down a bit to show the page in the notebook he's talking about. It's a basic leather bound journal and the page in question is covered in a series of glyhs and scribbled words]

[ooc: Action open to those in the library. Replies may come from Alexis or Castle. He is cursed with the questing curse and he thinks he's on an Indiana Jones-esque quest for Leonardo Da Vinci's lost notebook]
cuffmeonce: (Expressive faces)
My mother has arrived in the City. It's something I'm grateful for and something I feel guilty for as well. It adds another layer of normalcy to this place for both me and Alexis. I think it does for Kate as well. However curses like yesterday illustrate to me all the reasons I'm being selfish in being joyful at having her here.

Yesterday was...interesting and cruel. We shouldn't be forced to share our fears like that.

Did everyone make it out relatively alright?
cuffmeonce: ([Kate & Alexis] My Girls)
[Extremely locked from Alexis || Actually unhackable. He had technology at the Police Station do this one]

I need help. I haven't asked much from the City or it's citizens since arriving but this time I need something big. There's flood coming or at least we've all been warned of it. If the story is right then they're only going to be letting pairs on the ark. I need someone to take Alexis. Obviously I could go with her but I can't--I won't leave without Kate.

Alexis is 16, redheaded, a book worm. She dances, loves coffee and sweets. She's brilliant and funny and kind. I don't know how they're doing the pairings but maybe that'll give someone something to go on.

I need to make sure my baby girl is safe. Just in case this thing is real.

[ooc: With permission from Alexis' mun. She'll go along with the pair Castle 'picks' and be cursed.]

Hello City. It is a fantastic day. I know I've been promising you a new book the last few months and it is finally here. You can buy your very own copy of City Heat at the bookstore. I will gladly autograph copies.

As to those of you who might like to sample a bit of the book or at least know what to expect from it before buying, here's a summary:

City Heat by Richard Castle is a novel rife with mayhem, murder and mischief set in a curse ridden city. There's a rash of murders, absence of memories and the suspects are anything but concrete. Ride along with Nikki Heat and her 'consultant' Jameson Rook as they solve crimes, navigate difficult and sometimes ridiculous curses. Will she get her man?

[This is Castle's 'City' version of the Nikki Heat novels. They're written in very typical Castle style. Characters are free to see themselves in the various appearances and chracterizations of the residents. Make stuff up! If you have questions ask me! If you don't want your character portrayed in there at all, don't stress just assume they aren't. This summary and these two excerpts is all that will ever actually been seen of City Heat. The over reaching plot follows the Rido dinner!murder storyline with Nikki Heat of course getting her man in the end. It will be peppered with fictionalized versions of the last eight months or so's curses as well. All names are changed to protect the innocent as well as the not-so-innocent and the two main characters, Nikki and Rook, oddly -greatly- resemble Beckett and Castle. Read a sample of the real book 'Naked Heat' coming out soon here]

Remember I've got a daughter to feed! And let me know what you think of it.
cuffmeonce: (Great smile)
[Castle is standing in the kitchen. There is Italian Opera music turned up much too loudly and it is pouring out the open windows of the rented beach house. He is meticulously layering noodles, sauce, cheese and meat for lasagna. He is also singing. Badly. Not real Italian or real Opera. Just making up his own words and uttering noises that honestly could come from a cat in heat. After a moment he picks up a remote and turns the music down a bit]

You know really, I ought to consider moving out here. I think the beach has been good for Alexis. I almost think Beckett has been working a bit less and my cooking has improved with the salt air.

Everyone needs a vacation. Particularly here.
cuffmeonce: (Thinking face)
As most of you know, my daughter, Alexis, was missing for a few days this week. She is safe, although a bit banged up. I'd like to offer a public thank you to the City's police force as well as a young man named Blue and all of his friends who helped get Alexis back safely.

There is no sufficient way to express my gratitude but should any of you who helped with the search and her rescue ever need anything that I can provide all you need do is ask.

[Police Filter]

Lunch is on me for the next...hell as long as I can afford it. It's the least I can do.
cuffmeonce: (Sad Face)
[Castle has been to Cafe Juliet to pick up Alexis and instead of a pretty red head he found the bag usually carried by the pretty redhead. Yes he did do a bit of searching before panicking--okay before panicking publicly--but he found no sign of Alexis. It is now public panic time]

Has anyone heard from Alexis Castle in the last few hours? Blue, did you happen to pick her up from work?

[Private to Beckett]

Something's wrong. Alexis is gone. We need to look for her. We need to get the police looking for her. Now. Not forty eight hours from now. I'm worried.

[/private]

[ooc: related to this]
cuffmeonce: (Great smile)
Good day isn't it? Beautiful day. [Castle is carrying a fancy espresso machine in a box under his arm and he's whistling as he walks along toward the Police Station. It's Sunday but that doesn't stop Kate (and likely many of the other cops) from being in the office.]

Book will be out in a few days. I'm not cursed and Alexis is happy right now. The curse that most of the City seems to be under doesn't seem dangerous. One of those days I can't complain about.

[He walks into the police station and he'll begin setting up the coffee machine in the break room, still whistling.]

[ooc: He's in the break room at the police station. Feel free to stop him and say hi]
cuffmeonce: (WTH)
[Locked away from Alexis & Blue]

My baby girl is growing up. I knew this. I mean I know this. This is not news to me however this news does not usually smack me in the face quite so violently.

There's a boy reading her poetry. I was a boy who read poetry. I know what boys who read poetry to girls want.

The temptation to have Kate shoot him is--I'd go to jail. I wouldn't mind. Alexis could visit me on Sundays and holidays.

Isn't this place supposed to keep people from getting older? Sure when it comes to zombie sheep, lust curses and truth curses they're on top of things but when it comes to keeping my baby girl a baby girl there is an obvious failure to comply.

Now I'm going to go be ridiculous somewhere else. Maybe take my frustration out on a fictional serial killer who preys on other people's baby girls.
