[Locked away from Alexis & Blue]

My baby girl is growing up. I knew this. I mean I know this. This is not news to me however this news does not usually smack me in the face quite so violently.

There's a boy reading her poetry. I was a boy who read poetry. I know what boys who read poetry to girls want.

The temptation to have Kate shoot him is--I'd go to jail. I wouldn't mind. Alexis could visit me on Sundays and holidays.

Isn't this place supposed to keep people from getting older? Sure when it comes to zombie sheep, lust curses and truth curses they're on top of things but when it comes to keeping my baby girl a baby girl there is an obvious failure to comply.

Now I'm going to go be ridiculous somewhere else. Maybe take my frustration out on a fictional serial killer who preys on other people's baby girls.

...don't think Beckett'd shoot someone, though. Not unless 'e was actually--um, if y'could prove sommat, like.

'ow old's your daughter anyway?

Father do family talk, tell daughter all.

Um...aren't you being a tad bit too reactional to a guy reading poetry to your daughter?
Date/Time: 2010-05-22 23:45 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] cuffmeonce.livejournal.com
No she'd probably be rational about it which is irritating. I'll have to find someone else or do it myself.

She's sixteen.

Family talk? She gives me the sex talk on a semi regular basis.

No I am not. [He says this in a tone of voice like 'any other ridiculous questions']

A guy reciting poems doesn't typically mean that he wants to get into your daughter's pants. Most boys in this day and age have given up on "old school" methods of courting a girl.

Honestly, you should be more worried if he's wearing skinny jeans.

As one such boy who reads poetry to girls, I should hope I'm not so bad as all that.

I suppose I'm only trying to redeem poetry.

[Okaaaaaay tactically ignoring the first bit for the moment.] An' how old's this bloke tryin' t' pull?

I'll keep an eye out for the skinny jeans as well. I'm not discounting poetry. Not since I know it would work better with my daughter than skinny jeans.

It depends if redeeming poetry is your only point in reading poetry to girls.

[You also have to remember, Cain, he's an irrational over protective dad right now. No offense]

A very complicated sixteen apparently. He seems like a good...kid but I'm sure Hitler seemed like a good kid at one point.

[Yes irrational dad did just compare Blue to Hitler]

Well, I suppose I should be perfectly honest and say that that's only one point.

I sure would hate to see what would happen if you found out Alexis was cursed with being handcuffed to a guy for an entire day or weekend.
Date/Time: 2010-05-23 01:06 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] cuffmeonce.livejournal.com
There are others?
Date/Time: 2010-05-23 01:07 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] cuffmeonce.livejournal.com
That would depend on if the guy in question behaved.
Date/Time: 2010-05-23 01:08 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] misterblackbird.livejournal.com
Of course there are other reasons to read poetry to girls. I happen to know some young ladies who like poetry and are quite glad to have poetry read to them.
Date/Time: 2010-05-23 01:22 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] cuffmeonce.livejournal.com
Alright. I suppose I can give you that.
Date/Time: 2010-05-23 01:23 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] misterblackbird.livejournal.com
Thank you. I thought I'd mention it.

Some fathers would be relieved to have a boy reading their daughter poetry...albeit, confused, very possibly skeptical, but relieved nonetheless.

Unless...

[pause]

Was it bad poetry

Maybe you should practice some meditation techniques?
Date/Time: 2010-05-23 01:33 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] cry-reaper.livejournal.com
I think that's rather nice. That someone's reading her poetry.
Date/Time: 2010-05-23 02:21 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] cuffmeonce.livejournal.com
It's been noted.
Date/Time: 2010-05-23 02:22 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] cuffmeonce.livejournal.com
It's more the intention of the poetry I'm worried about.

No it was very good poetry.

I'll just kill another character off in my books.
