cuffmeonce: (Expressive faces)
[Castle is having a green beer at the bar. He's wearing a green tee shirt and a jacket over it. At least he's trying to be festive. It's progress for him. He's also got a small notebook and a pen. Every once in a while he scribbles something down then goes back to his green beer and his people watching]

While I'm fairly sure that Castle is an English name at one point there was a bit of English in the Irish blood lines. The British were going to 'breed' the Irish out. Nasty piece of history but the most history has those bits.

[ooc: If there is a particular bar that is serving green beer, feel free to place him in it. I had no idea if any of the player bars were serving it or not so I put him in a nonspecific one. Feel free to come up and have some green beer with him]

Breed the Irish out? How does that work, nationality isn't tied to genes. While there are physical traits that are common to an area, there's isn't a significant enough difference in the basic genomes to breed for, let alone out.

It's an antiquated, barbaric theory that the English employeed centuries ago. At least according to history which is notoriously biased.

How were they doing that? Enforced gene therapy?

This was centuries ago. It was rape.

Well, that's hardly what the holiday is. It was very terrible, of course, though.

Oh I didn't mean to say the holiday was about that. Green beer and four leaf clovers seem to be what the holiday is about.

It was.

Are you enjoying the festivities?

I am. I always enjoy and Irish whiskey but green beer is growing on me. Yourself?

Ah-ha! It's far too festive to resist! Although I think that I'm rather glad it doesn't appear to have affected the flavor.

I think if they put entirely too much in it might but just enough to make it green seems to have retained the flavor of the beer fairly well.

How's your Saint Patrick's Day going?

I think that it's one thing this place has gotten right.

Although, perhaps I should take off my green. I'm getting entirely too few pinches today.

I guess that depends on how hard they pinch.
