Beckett! Where are you! You know I’m counting on you to save my lily white a—
[Castle looks wildly, dramatically around the area, taking stock and noting that he is not in New York City anymore. He’s got his bullet proof vest on that says writer across the front and a gun in a holster on his belt. The safety is on. The safety is always on because Beckett insists]
This is an interesting turn of events. I—uhm—I’m Rick Castle. You might have heard of me before. I am a best selling novelist. You might even recognize me from the ruggedly handsome photo on the back of my books. I’m also a consultant with the NYPD and my partner…she’s going to be mighty upset when she finds out I’ve been kidnapped…
[He pauses again, considering the situation]
Beckett? If this a prank it’s not a very good one.

Re: action
Yeah she-she looked beautiful. The guy taking her was--didn't stand a chance.
Re: action
[She pauses a moment, trying to figure out something to say that might not make it so bad.]
You'll see her again, I mean. People leave all the time. And they say you don't remember this place when you go back.
[Why yes, someone has been reading old Network logs. Did anyone really expect any different?]
Re: action
Angela told me that as long as I'm here, time doesn't move there for Alexis so she'll never know I'm gone.
I guess that's some comfort. Besides, I figure you and I here together, they'll beg to let us go home.
Re: action
[She laughs and shakes her head though, because it was kind of a relief to have Castle around. He always managed to see the things she missed. Maybe he could help her fix all of this.]
So, the deal is you get a month's free ride. After that, you're actually gonna have to find a job. You can get your own apartment tomorrow, you get supplies and all that, it's just not going to be the caliber you're used to, sorry.
Re: action
Police force here? And maybe a publishing company? I know there's a library.
[He chuckles a little at the caliber comment]
I've slummed it! There was a whole month I lived in Harlem and did the independent writer thing.
Re: action
[She rolls her eyes.]
You did not! Living on the border of the Upper East Side does not constitute as Harlem.
[Beckett doesn't even realize that knowledge is fangirl territory. She's been off her guard, okay? Nobody around to really know the Beckett from home, she was able to be a little looser.]
Re: action
[For the first time he has a fleeting moment of 'at least Alexis is safe'. He doesn't have to worry about making sure she's got enough to eat, the right pair of shoes, paying for ballet lessons or buying the books she wants. All he has to take care of is himself. It's a relief but not enough for him to voice or stick with the thought that 'at least Alexis isn't here'.
He gets that stupid 'I know what you know' grin on his face at Beckett's words]
Someone's been investigating me.
[He even says it in a sing song manner. He doesn't mind. In fact he's flattered. Castle got over the idea of his past being private about the time he wrote his third best seller]
action
[She would understand that sentiment, at least. Not that she had anyone to take care of back home, but for awhile in the City, Beckett didn't have to be the uptight schoolmarm. Now that Castle's with her though, she's happy to have to look after him again. She'll just never say it.
Her eyes widen momentarily before she schools her features into an eye roll.]
You really think I agreed to work with you without running a complete background check? Please.
Re: action
[He grins at her lopsidedly. He's happy to play the being looked after part. He chuckles at her reaction]
Of course not. I expected it.
Re: action
Oh, good. At least you're not completely retarded.
Re: action
There was any question? Don't answer that.
